Top 5 tearjerkers

Because, I mean, really. It's about time I started organizing a cryfest, and sure, these movies reflect my age, but who doesn't need to weep once in a while…

1. Stand By Me (it's one of the prettiest movies of all time) 

2. Steel Magnolias (total sob-or-ama)

3. Father of the Bride (seriously. Steve Martin should adopt me. seriously.)

4. Beaches (look--just listen to "Wind Beneath My Wings"--try to keep the tears away)

5. American Beauty (I saw it like 5 times in the theater)

Gratefulness list

There is so much beauty  in the world. I can never be too grateful.

4. Kittens. What pals. Talk about devotion. Wompus was such a darling during my exam.

5. Tomorrow. Tonight I am happy today happened and eager for tomorrow.

Write it or else

Timeline:

1. Write three pages before 1 p.m. meeting with JD (that's just a page an hour)

2. Write three more pages before supper at 6 p.m. (again, just a page an hour)

3. Have a draft 15-page document by midnight

4. Find two readers 

5. Submit essay by e-mail at 9 a.m. Saturday!!!

***Any deadline that is not met will require me to pay a $15 fine in the form of a donation to Saluki Way. Why? Because I disagree with the plan and it serves as a slap in the face to the academic mission of SIUC. And this exam process sure feels like my little academic mission!!!

Donut list

Yes, I know that "donut" is not a word. It's an old joke of mine from high school when I would write "to do" lists in the middle of the night and leave them in the middle of my bedroom floor so I would see them in the morning. But my "to do" lists were always headed "do not" (as in "do not forget 'to do'"), and one night my writing was so sloppy my list seemed to be headed "Donut."

1. Finish this damn discourse paper

2. Lunch with prospective student (why am I doing this now? dunno)

3. E-mail Cinzia about tomorrow

4. Grade JRNL 290

5. Sleep
